June is my wife’s colleague and she has asked me to shoot her wedding, even before Mike asked her to marry her. The day is full of energy, though the starting time is a little bit earlier, the group can maintain a high emotion throughout the day.

For this wedding, I am working with another photographer who shoot all pictures formally. And I am free to shoot whatever I like in documentary way. I didn’t have a chance to meet face to face with Belle and Michael before their wedding, which will normally affect the outcome of the pictures. But the happiness and energy of the guests made this beautiful and relax happened, and translated into the pictures.

Anthony is my former colleague. We haven’t met each other for about 7 years after we left the jobs and when Anthony asked me to be his photographer, I said yes immediately.
I am not a Catholic, but love church wedding so much because in Hong Kong, it will probably be the only spacious place during the whole wedding process. This is St. Teresa Church, one of the biggest church in Hong Kong.

I seldom take pre-wedding picture as the logistic and pre-production cost is too much for me. However, when my friends Ester and Sing asked me to take their pre-wedding pictures in Hong Kong, I am more than happy to accept. Both of them are good photographers so the pressure is on. We have visited Shek O, their secondary school and Tsim Sha Tsui from morning til night. Thanks for your patience, and wish you two happy in the future!

A busy year end which brought me to this new hotel in Skycity near the airport. As a nature light shooter, it is always a challenge to find a quality light. This is especailly ture in Hong Kong as space is limited. The picture below is an example of strong and contrast lighting in action. Hard light, when it is directional and off camera, will be very dramatic.

I firmly believe wedding day should not be a posing or photographing day for the couple. Those posed pictures are not the real moment, and they are not timeless. This wedding of Phoebe and Ryan is the first time I use nature light for the whole day to capture them in a nature way. No flash in any photos you see here. Hope you enjoy.
